Sharmaine Moke is a designer and works fulltime at Maori Television. This is her first show at New Zealand Fashion Week. Her women’s wear collection, titled “Concrete Jungle” was inspired by central city, urban landscapes and debuted at Miromoda earlier this year. Her tailored pieces incorporate a colour palette of grey, white, black and green, which represent urban infrastructure and the land.
Sharmaine is a fashion graduate of Wellington Polytechnic, who has worked in other industries and most recently qualified as an accountant, but her real passion has always been fashion. Her top priorities are learning as much about the industry as possible and developing her own clothing label GRAY for career woman who have a modern, individual sense of style.
