Source Fashion Show Opens This Sunday

Source Fashion launches this Sunday at Olympia London, showcasing a range of Sedex audited designers, producers and manufacturers from over 20 countries.

Attendees can expect hours of though-provoking and informational content from leading industry names like F&F Clothing, Safia Minney, Alice Temperley and Boohoo, who will discuss the latest trends and topics in sustainable fashion.

"There is an urgent need for retailers to adopt a diversified, transparent and ethical supply chain. We have launched Source Fashion to become the gateway to UK retail and set the new standard for how inspiration, collaboration and awareness will shape the future of responsible product sourcing," commented Director of Sourcing at Source Fashion, Suzanne Ellingham.

A dedicated Source catwalk will be held, displaying cutting-edge new materials, textiles, forward trends and innovative designs by the fashion designer, Eirinn Hayhow and fashion students from a Redesigning Fashion collaboration, launched by the Salvation Army Trading Company and the Winchester School of Arts.

Hayhow's latest collection, Plantasia, will also be presented twice a day.

A champion of sustainable fashion, the designer continues to pave the way in innovative material production. She was the first designer to create couture garments using vegan leather made from waste coffee granules.

The show will include pieces that have been coloured using home-made dye and plant inks, created from foraging herbs, plants and berries. Garments made from Hayhow's fruit and vegetable waste bio leather and bio plastics will also be on showcase.

"We are very excited to be supporting the visionary work of Eirinn. She is a super eco designer and her show will give a glimpse into future materials," said Ellingham.

"There have been some amazing changes as we move towards a more sustainable world in so many industries, but I cannot deny the fear I have that, like everything, it has now become a trend to many people," added Hayhow.

"It does upset me that huge corporations seem to get away with greenwashing, particularly when there are some real innovators striving to make a change, but equally, I am hoping that even small changes in the right direction can help save our planet."

From raw materials, fabrics, to contract manufacturers offering in house design services, Source Fashion brings the inspiration and tools together in one exciting destination to bring new collections to life.
