Following the success of their collaboration with DESMA Schuchmaschinen GmbH and Laceless Design for The Laceless Challenge, the most influential sneaker design contest on the planet, Footwearology Lab has announced a groundbreaking footwear technology innovation conference.
DESMA-ology will showcase the manufacture of Jesse Giacomo’s winning laceless sneaker design, and engage in discussing seven key scenarios for the future of footwear manufacturing.
More than 600 footwear industry professionals have already registered for the interactive experience, with demos and engaging group discussions featuring more than 23 guest speakers - from visionary designers and programmers to start-ups and established companies. Though DESMA-ology will have a focus on current and future developments in local automated manufacturing of footwear, the conference will also look at the entire workflow, including automated design, AI, innovative materials and on-demand retail platforms. For the first time, results from research at Footwearology Lab will also be presented.
DESMA-ology will take place at the DESMA House Fair, the biggest networking event for footwear technology taking place September 26/27, 2022 at DESMA’s spectacular new facilities in Achim, Germany.
