UK Marketplace and Global Educational Hub Release Sustainability Guides For Businesses

UK's leading marketplaces, Spring and Autumn Fair have partnered with global educational hub, Products of Change, to release a set of five informative guides for businesses to become more sustainable, regenerative and ethical.

This collaboration is part of Spring and Autumn Fair's Power of One Campaign, which aims to provide retailers and brands with the tools to collectively reduce their environmental impact in order to meet 2030 climate targets.

The "Pathway to Sustainability" whitepaper guides businesses on how to set goals using the structure of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The "Circular Economy" whitepaper centres around debunking the mainstream linear economic growth model by offering business strategies that are not dependent on the extraction of finite resources.

'With all its inefficiency, waste and pollution, our current linear way of doing things can no longer support a growing population. The system needs to change entirely if we are to continue building prosperity for all. Which brings us to the circular economy, a way of shifting from value extraction to value creation. Not an anti-growth or de-growth approach, but a way to create growth and profit but in a restorative and regenerative way," states the whitepaper.

The guide is structured based on the three principles of the circular economy - eliminating waste and pollution, keeping existing materials in use and regenerating natural systems.

The other three documents explore the Green Claims code, with the "Navigating the Green Claims Code and Avoiding Greenwashing" whitepaper; the key policies, mandates and frameworks businesses should be aware of in its "Legislation" white paper, concluded by a deep dive into the new generation of sustainable shoppers in the "Consumer Trends" guide.

"Thanks to our partnership with Products of Change, we can deliver real education to our audience of retailers and suppliers, with which they can begin to build actionable steps as part of a wider strategy to transition towards sustainability and business practices that benefit people and the planet.," commented Nikki Griffifths, Group Communications and ESG Director of Hyve Group PLC, the parent organisation of Spring and Autumn Fair.

"Products of Change is proud to partner with Spring and Autumn Fair, who has been driving awareness around sustainability since 2018 with their Power of One campaign, highlighting that one small action can make a huge impact when adopted at scale across industry," added Helena Mansell-Stopher, Founder and CEO of Products of Change.

"Education is at the heart of Products of Change and to get the opportunity to deliver some practical guidelines to the industry through our collaboration, and help industry navigate the broad topic of sustainability to build action through these whitepapers, is a real privilege."
