Creative director of Valentino, Pierpaolo Piccioli, was awarded the Designer of the Year award at the 2022 Fashion Awards.
He was presented with his award by actor Florence Pugh, who regularly wears Valentino for her red carpet events.
Piccioli's win marks the second time the designer has won the Designer of the Year award. He first scooped the prize in 2018.
Since joining Valentino in 2008, Piccioli has been widely credited with boosting the demand of the luxury market, particularly among Gen Z consumers.
He is also responsible for propelling the popularity of magenta, teaming up with Pantone to create a special "Pink PP" shade that is now being used across the fashion industry, from couture gowns to miniature bags.
The 2022 Fashion Awards nominees and winners are voted for by an international judging panel consisting of more than 1,000 industry experts.
This year's ceremony took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London and was hosted by actor Jodie Turner-Smith.
