Vans, the original action sports brand and advocate for creative expression, is thrilled to announce the opening of its first concept store on Wellington’s iconic Cuba Street this month. The opening will mark the second Vans store to be opened in New Zealand.
Located in the heart of Cuba Street, the store is a reflection of the brands’ 55 years of encouraging creative self-expression in youth culture across action sports, art, music and street culture. The store will offer a full range of Vans footwear, apparel and accessories across Men’s, Women’s and Youth, in addition to exclusive product that will only be available at Vans retail and online.
“Vans has been fundamental in building youth culture by encouraging people to express themselves. Vans has had incredible support in New Zealand over the years and we’re stoked to open the city’s first Vans store right in the heart of Wellington," expressed Ben Hapgood, Group General Manager, New Zealand & Accent Wholesale.
To commemorate the opening, Vans has teamed up with world-renowned artist and Vans partner Jason Woodside to help bring the celebrations to life. Woodside has created a custom art piece to be installed at the Cuba Street space. Woodside will also be in store from 12pm – 2pm on the 10th of June, hand-delivering three customised skateboard decks. Vans will be running an in-store competition to give away the three decks to three lucky winners. All Vans fan have to do is head in-store, discover the Jason Woodside QR code and sign up to win!
