Paul Van Doren, co-founder of the iconic sneaker brand, Vans, has died at the age of 90.
Vans' announced the news on Friday via their social media platforms.
Paul was not just an entrepreneur; he was an innovator. The Van Doren Rubber Company was the culmination of a lifetime of experimentation and hard work in the shoe indsutry. Paul's bold experiments in product design, distribution and marketing, along with his knack for numbers and efficiency turned a family shoe busienss into a globally recognised brand.
In "Authentic", Van Doren mentions that the key to success was to give customers what they wanted. Whether it's their classic checkerboard design, or whether it's bright pinks and oranges, listening to your customers for design inspiration is key.
