WINNER OF TORY BURCH MENTORSHIP AWARD ANNOUNCED

THE Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has partnered with Tory Burch to create the 'Tory Burch Mentorship Award', an award aimed at supporting young designers. The opportunity was presented to all of its participating Design Schools across America in January this year, with each department chair selecting their top 3 candidates to design and submit a F/W14 "American chic casual sportswear" collection for consideration.

Teslin Doud is an environmentally-conscious student at Parsons The New School of Design, and the very first to receive the award! As part of her mentorship, Teslin will spend a year producing a collection with guidance from the Tory Burch team, fly to Paris to select fabrics and receive two professionally-made RTW pieces for her senior year thesis collection.

The Tory Burch team is "thrilled to be partnering with the CFDA on a program to provide design students with hands-on exposure to the industry and to the challenges and rewards of designing a collection."
