Zara looks toward the future

Fast fashion brand Zara has announced a change in their leadership to lead them into their next phase of development. Carlos Crespo has been appointed as the brand’s new chief executive officer effective from the beginning of July.

Crespo is the owner of the renown fashion label, and he recently oversaw their integration of Inditex's online and bricks and mortar developments. Zara is looking to push further into the e-commerce sector, and Crespo is believed to be the best fit for this task, given his experience.

“I am very excited to play a role at this important time for the company in which digital transformation and sustainability in all its manifestations represent exciting challenges,” said Crespo.

The brand’s current CEO, Pablo Isla, will remain with the company and will continue leading as an executive chairman. The leaders are expected to work in tandem for much of the brand’s development.
