Stockholm-based fashion house, Acne Studios, has debuted its Menswear Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
Drawing from the concept of a "modern caveman", the collection celebrates the shifting boundaries of menswear by juxtaposing traditionally feminine fabrics and cuts with the traditionally masculine.
"When I work, it's sort of like therapy. I've been thinking a lot about the masculine baggage that we drag along as guys, boys, men, and I wanted to explore it for fall. The so-called rules of masculinity are changing," noted Creative Director for Acne Studios, Jonny Johansson.
Ushering in a new age of self-expression, the range combines experimental evening wear with craft-infused day wear to challenge fashion boundaries.
"I felt inspired by the new man, the new way of looking at things, and by men who can show vulnerability aesthetically. I was intrigued by the thought of a caveman being the most masculine thing and I used that as a contrast," added Johansson.
The collection features a wide spectrum of silhouettes that are designed to create a striking contrast. Second-skin cropped tees and knits are juxtaposed with one-size-up denim jeans, while slim leather bike pants are accompanied by skin-exposing stretch tops.
Its colour palette utilises earthy browns, smudgy greens, faded blues, cloudy greys, which are brought to life with dusty pinks, rusty oranges, flashes of neon and glimpses of metallic gold and copper.
The Men's Fall/Winter 2023 collection is available in Acne Studios stores worldwide and on the website.
