AUCKLAND’S LUXURY STORES VANDALISED

Auckland's three most expensive retailers were defaced earlier this week on lower Queen Street. Black spray painted tags and white splatters were found on the storefronts of Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton.

The isolated event was described by Heart of the City Auckland centre manager, Tania Loveridge as totally unacceptable, and an action Auckland City does not tolerate.

"Quicker removal means less recognition for the vandals. There are over 100,000 incidents across the region per year but most are removed before the public sees it," said Auckland Council's community safety programme manager, Brian Taylor.

Representatives from all three stores have yet to comment.
