AUSTRALIA | BIG W has officially opened its newest store following a $4 million investment.
BIG W Port Adelaide offers exceptional value and convenience to the local community with low everyday prices, a streamlined layout, and an enhanced shopping experience just in time for the festive season.
This new store has employed approximately 52 team members, including 41 new team members joining BIG W for the first time. It will serve as a hub of employment and opportunity within the local community.

“Our goal is to offer outstanding value, a family-friendly shopping experience, and convenient services like Direct to Boot. This store has been designed with the community in mind, and we’re excited to become a trusted destination in the area.”
Inspired by customer insights, the store features on-trend clothing and home areas and an interactive health and beauty department inviting customers to try items before purchasing. This interactive space will allow customers to try new brands, resonating with younger, trend-focused shoppers.

“The continued growth of the Plaza shopping precinct means that people will shop here in the Port, without having to travel out of the area, helping our local economy, and in line with the government’s various measures that have seen Port Adelaide thriving again.”
With the Australian beauty market expected to grow from $6.3 billion in 2022 to $8.4 billion by 2028, BIG W’s approach is set to appeal to this expanding audience.
The Port Adelaide store also features a family-friendly atmosphere with designated spaces throughout, including an irresistible toy section featuring BIG W’s own Somersault range alongside popular national brands.
Big Bulk Buys is a fun-filled Party Shop with Balloon inflation and an elevated fitting room experience that adds a touch of comfort and luxury, making the shopping experience enjoyable from start to finish.

The new store reflected a commitment to sustainability. It has incorporated energy-efficient LED lighting to reduce environmental impact and uses trolleys and baskets made from recycled milk bottles.
