For over 50 years, The Great Frog has created unique jewellery for rebellious icons and rock 'n' roll legends. Dr Martens and The Great Frog have been known for designing symbols of alternative fashion and unapologetic self-expression.
This second collaboration has showcased hand-carved buckles by TGF Creative Director Reino Lehtonen-Riley, continuing their mutual appreciation for the extraordinary.
With roots in analog subcultures and music iconography, both Dr Martens and The Great Frog recognised the importance of creating products embraced by style-defining communities.
Whether boots or rings, their products have become vehicles for self-expression, defiantly challenging the status quo. While their customers' styles and trends may change over the years, their products' roles in people's styles remain as relevant as ever.
The Dr Martens x The Great Frog collaboration and campaign shoot have celebrated the spirit of fluid, unwavering self-expression. The shoot features emerging singer-songwriter Florence Rose, stylist and visual artist Beau Tiger Rae, and model Mars Chen.
"Since the success of the first DM’s x TGF collection, I’ve been able to explore design ideas inspired by the roots of both The Great Frog and Dr Martens; the early days of classic British rock n roll culture—but reinventing it through a modern lens with a new British youth culture DIY punk aesthetic,” said Lehtonen-Riley.
The collection features three hardware-heavy styles: the 1460 boot, Ramsey Creeper, and 7" Satchel. In 2024, The Great Frog will be the third partner to collaborate on DM's most recognisable creeper silhouette as part of its revival for a new generation of wearers.
Dr Martens x The Great Frog collection will be available this Friday, the 26th of July.
