Having been admitted to a hospital in one of the regions where the COVID-19 pandemic is felt the heaviest, Italian footwear icon dies at age 84.
Sergio Rossi began producing footwear in the late 60s and launched his namesake luxury footwear brand. It has since been sold to the Gucci Group and his stunning creations have been worn by A-list celebrities such as Lupita Nyong'o, Ariana Grande, Paris Hilton and much more.
Sergio Rossi suffered from COVID-19, which lead to his death on April 3rd 2020. Just last month, he had made a donation of 100, 000 euros to a Milanese hospital to help fight this global pandemic.
His legacy lives on, just as he took up artisanal shoemaking from his father, the generation he has left behind will continue to be inspired by his craftsmanship and leadership.
