Monarc and Kowtow Present Jewellery Collaboration

Monarc Jewellery and Kowtow have just released their collaboration Catena, a contemporary collection of demi-fine earrings and rings.

Inspired by the bold, geometric forms of Mid-Century sculptors like Beverly Pepper and Clement Meadmore, the collection is an extension and celebration of both brands' shared goal of creating positive fashion and wearable keepsakes. Monarc and Kowtow are both B Corp certified and committed to using their business as a vessel for positive change.

Crafted using 100 per cent recycled sterling silver and gold vermeil, the Catena collection was designed to be bold, yet highly wearable. Through a reductive process, shapes and forms found in the sculpture of Pepper and Meadmore were refined, creating 14 pieces that can be mixed, matched and re-worn.

The design ethos of Catena blends Kowtow's concept of a modular wardrobe consisting of foundational building blocks and Monarc's emphasis on using simple and sculptural forms.

The collection was born out of conversations between Ella Drake, founder of Monarc Jewellery, and Marilou Dadat, the creative director of Kowtow. Drake and Dadat began by brainstorming new iterations and configurations of Monarc's signature styles.

In celebration of the collection, Kowtow and Monarc hosted an open day in Kowtow's Wellington flagship store, where customers were invited to explore the pieces and styling possibilities with the designers.
