Dunedin Airport has partnered with iD Fashion Week once again, bringing a touch of New Zealand’s leading designer fashion directly to travellers.

Visitors to the Dunedin Airport will discover a stunning display of garments from some of the country’s most talented designers, who happen to be from the lower South Island, showcased at the domestic baggage claim area on the ground floor.

Featured designers include Company of Strangers, Charmaine Reveley, NOM*d, Rhian, and Natalie Newlands.

This creative installation celebrates our ongoing partnership with iD Dunedin Fashion Week, one of Dunedin’s most iconic events. Dunedin Airport’s Community Sponsorship Programme supports initiatives that reflect our commitment to the well-being and vibrancy of our region. As a sponsor, the airport said it was excited to share the spirit of local fashion with locals and visitors alike.

"Dunedin Airport’s purpose is to sustainably connect people, businesses, and communities to the taoka (treasures) of the lower South Island," said CEO Daniel De Bono.

"Our partnership with iD Dunedin Fashion Week reflects that mission, highlighting the city’s world-class design talent in a unique way."

iD Dunedin Fashion Week will return to the runway on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th April 2025 at the historic Dunedin Railway Station. Known for celebrating both emerging and established designers, the iD events act as a platform for designers to connect, share, and collaborate.

Designers must submit a sustainability statement as part of their show application, and several awards are dedicated to promoting environmentally conscious fashion practices.

The new on-site fashion display will run throughout the lead-up to iD Dunedin Fashion Week, offering travellers a preview of what’s to come.

The installation has followed the recent Artist in the Terminal exhibition of Alice Muir. Known for her imaginative, freehand style, Muir's works decorated the various areas of the terminal, showcasing large and artistic paintings, including some aviation-themed.
