New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) has announced a series of milestone announcements, including the first wave of designer shows and presentations, alongside the official NZFW 2025 campaign.
For the first time in more than five years, NZFW have released an official campaign shoot, directed by NZFW Board Member and Creative Advisor Dan Ahwa, photographed by Mara Sommer.
This year, the campaign reflects the energy of a new vision: inclusive, future-focused, and grounded in the culture of New Zealand. It spotlights Adam Banoori, Carrie Berkey, Molly Dennis, Juliette Perkins, Kaarina Parker, Sophie Song, Vinnie Woolston and Yasmine Mohamud.
"The NZFW 2025 campaign is in step with the times. Nothing overly-pretentious or intimidating," said Ahwa.
"It's simply about celebrating the feeling of fashion, whether it's one of joy or empowerment.”
In addition to that, there is also a strong suite of designers, including a selection of NZFW-owned shows, such as Into The Archives - a retrospective runway show to open the week, which looks back at over two decades of contemporary, iconic New Zealand fashion.
The first wave of designers appearing on the schedule are Breast Cancer Cure Designer Showcase, Claudia Li, Juliette Hogan, Karen Walker, Kahui Collective, Kathryn Wilson, Knuefermann, Kiri Nathan, Kowtow, Pacific Fusion, Rebe, Rory William Docherty, Sonnie, Taylor, The Keep, The Shelter, Untouched World, and Zambesi.
As always, the next generation of the industry will take centre stage in the Future of Fashion showcase, delivered by DHL, the University show The Graduate Collections, and Raise Up’s Walk the Line, specifically for secondary school students.
The Speaker series Beyond the Runway will feature industry leaders discussing topics such as navigating the global fashion landscape, creating cult followings, and what it takes to build a thriving business, as well as offering insights on how to develop a career in fashion.
The end of the week will also feature a Greatest Hits show, featuring the best looks of NZFW 2025.
