The latest celebrity fashion launch is a ready to wear collection from Sofía Vergara in collaboration with Walmart.
The new collection includes over 100 unique pieces, with new designs to be released seasonally. The range's focal point is a substantial denim range in a variety of silhouettes such as high-waisted flares and ankle skinny. Other additions to the collection include denim skirts, jackets and graphic -shirts. The careful detailing of different items is a highlight of the collection, with stud work, lace detailing, cutouts and raw edges featuring heavily throughout the range.
The collection includes sizes from XS to 3XL, and each item is priced under $40. The idea of creating a label which was accessible for mass audiences was extremely important for Vergara, as she detailed in a statement celebrating the new collection. “I wanted to create an affordable line, and I wanted to create something that was super good quality and that I would wear, and I would be happy to see other girls around me wear and be proud of.”
Vergara’s previous fashion endeavours include an expansive arrangement with Kmart, where the actress released a range of accessories, swimwear, shapewear and apparel. The partnership lasted four years before the actress moved away to focus on taking her brand global.
Walmart’s role in this new partnership comes as a part of the company’s attempt to increase their private label offerings across the apparel, accessories and homeware sectors. Their existing labels include Times and Tru. Terra & Sky and Wonder Nation, who all hold exclusive deals with the retailer. Vergara’s collection will join Walmart’s already expansive portfolio.
