UPDATE ON ADMINISTRATION OF ZIERA SHOES

Ziera shoes will enter a "closing down" sale phase as administrators look to pass on the business.

The administrators have explained that all of the stores throughout Australia and New Zealand will be closing down in the near future, consequently, staff will also lose their jobs. One of the administrators Conor McElhinney said Ziera trading has occurred for the past six weeks as they struggle to find a buyer.

“We have been working with a number of interested parties to find a buyer for the Ziera business since the administration began. We continue to work with several parties who are looking at purchasing a slimmed-down version of the business. However, there was no interest in the whole of the business," he said.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of staff during this difficult time, with all of the team working hard to preserve the business. Unfortunately, as there is no buyer for Ziera as a whole, we have had to make some staff redundant and we expect to have to make further redundancies in the future as stores close."

As Ziera enters its closing down phase, customers can expect increased discounting in-store, with new season styles dispatched daily.

"Customers should get in quick, as we are already running out of certain sizes and styles," said McElhinney.

The administrators hope to announce a sale of part of the business, which hopefully will secure the brand for retail in the future.
