Vans is commemorating one of music, and fashions, most beloved figures in their latest limited-edition collection. The incredible career and creative spirit of beloved musician David Bowie is tributed in Van’s new footwear collection which takes inspiration from some of the artist’s most influential work.
Five new styles will be released on April 5th through Pat Menzies retail stores in addition to an online offering. Fits range from adult sizes all the way to kid’s, so even the littlest Bowie fans can rock the looks.
The limited-edition styles are as follows:
A skate shoe inspired by the musicians first hit single ‘Space Oddity’ in 1996, designed with varying shades of green and blue to match the iconic album artwork.
A Sk8-Hi Platform 2.0 which pays tribute to Bowie’s stunning alter ego – Ziggy Stardust. Red patent leather, embossed lettering and a dark platform sole make for an edgy and androgynous design. This style is available in an extended size range for both men’s and women’s, in keeping with the inclusive style of the infamous Ziggy Stardust.
The 1971 Hunky Dory album is celebrated in the Slip-On 47 V with fuzzy checkerboard uppers, pull tabs and yellow suede features to imitate the flamboyant album cover.
A Van’s Old Skool shoe has been designed to pay homage to the artist’s highly popular Aladdin Sane album. The singers iconic red and blue lightning bolts sit alongside a Van’s Sidestrip, blending the brand and musician together.
Finally, the artist's last album ‘Star’ is celebrated in a Van’s Classic Slip-On model. Key features of the shoe include canvas and suede uppers, a vinyl star and an outer space galaxy textile across the footbed.
