YU MEI

Throughout high school Jessie Wong did a couple of industry internships and then continued to study fashion in Dunedin. As soon as Wong graduated she launched Yu Mei. Her brand pull focuses on minimal details and designs to her ethos of "simplicity is complexity resolved". Yu Mei uses luxuriously soft deer nappa from the South Island and brass hardware. The brand is still very young and is still evolving, Wong believes there is always a new idea being brewed into the mix. Currently stocked in a variety of boutiques all over the country, Wong hopes to extend her brand awareness at NZFW and start a conversation about their background. Wong wants Yu Mei's manufacturing and production processes to be transparent and provide a level of insight to her customers that they normally wouldn't be privy to.
