Big Names at iD Fashion Week

A big name list has been released by iD Fashion Week detailing the various high profile designers that will be taking part in the show this year. Stolen Girlfriends Club, Zambesi, TUR, Julian Danger, NOM*d, Carlson, Company of Strangers and Charmaine Reveley are just some of the designer that were announced in what is shaping up to be the biggest event yet.

New designers included the up-cycled clothing label Melanie Child, Amelia Boland in collaboration with Perriam, and Queenstown designer Natalie Newlands showcasing her label New Lands.

"iD Fashion Week is not only a platform for showcasing our extraordinary established designers from Dunedin, but also a runway where we want to show off breakthrough talent," said Cherry Lucas, committee chair, iD Fashion Week.

Part of the world-class offering will be the inclusion of kiwi-born Emilia Wickstead, best known for her continued relationship and service to Duchess Kate Middleton. Wickstead will showcase a selection from her previous two AW collections, which include several couture pieces worn on the red carped by international celebrities as well as joining the judging panel at the event.

"Emilia Wickstead's chic and elegant designs have created an international following and we're delighted to have her back in her home country showing at iD. From her very latest pieces from London Fashion Week, to couture garments worn on the world's red carpets, iD audiences will enjoy a spectacular fashion experience," said Lucas.

Wickstead was born in Auckland before moving to Milan at age 14, to which she went on to study at internationally renowned fashion school Central Saint Martins. She brings to the judging table experience working with global fashion houses including Giorgio Armani, Proenza Schouler and Narciso Rodriquez.

iD Fashion Week will run from 12-20 March.
