Commemorate International Women's Day by supporting Dress for Success Australia's annual Empower Hour campaign.
Operating in its seventh year, the month-long campaign raise awareness around the disparity issues facing women in Australia and support more than 5,000 women in gaining employment.
The charity is asking for donations equivalent to an hour of the donor's pay. Every dollar that is given will assist in aiding disadvantaged women break into and succeed in the workforce, providing career development training, professional attire and networking opportunities.
"Empower Hour is a powerful opportunity for individuals and organisations to come together to make a tangible difference in the lives of women," said CEO of Dress for Success Sydney, Leisa Sadler.
"Dress for Success services are more important than ever as women, especially vulnerable women, continue to be disproportionally affected by economic downturn."
As the cost of living steadily increases, economic participation continues to be one of the greatest tools for women to gain autonomy over their lives and the decisions they make. Reducing underemployment and unemployment helps to not only boost living standards, but also creates a secure future for women.

"Recently, Australia ranked a staggering 70th in the world in terms of women's economic security and opportunity. We're seeing the percentage of homeless women over the age of 55 steadily increase. Single mothers and women who experience domestic violence are also particularly vulnerable," added Sadler.
Dress for Success aims to bridge the gap for vulnerable women by creating equality and fairness for job-seekers who identify as women through building resilience and instilling confidence.
"We want to see women be able to take control and set themselves up for the future," concluded Sadler.
