Dress for Success' Empower Hour fundraising campaign has reached halfway in its goal of raising 250 thousand dollars.
The campaign supports vulnerable Australian women in overcoming barriers to employment, equipping them with the resources they need to break into and succeed in the workforce, including career development training, network opportunities and professional attire.
For the month of March, the charity is asking for donations equivalent of one hour of pay to help make a real difference in the lives of disadvantaged Australian women.
"We want to give these women the tools they need to become financially independent. The Empower Hour campaign is an incredible opportunity for Australians to come together and support each other," explained CEO of Dress for Success Sydney, Leisa Sadler.
"Every donation makes a difference in a woman's life. It could be the difference between financial independence or remaining in poverty."
The charity is committed to helping every woman attain an equal chance at success.
"The average full-time employee works around 2,000 hours a year. We're asking for one hour as an investment into the future, because when women work, families thrive, communities prosper and the economy grows," concluded Sadler.
