iD Dunedin Fashion Week reveals iconic lineup

iD Dunedin Fashion Week has been showcasing homegrown and international talent for twenty years, and their 2019 event marks a milestone for the organisation. For the 20th instalment of the event, some of New Zealand’s most acclaimed designers will join a selection handpicked emerging designers to showcase their own ready-to-wear collections.

Sixteen iconic brands will be taking to the mainstage for runway presentations. The featured labels making appearances at this year's event are as follows: Carlson, Charmaine Reveley, Company of Strangers, DADA, Hailwood, Kate Sylvester, Liam, Maaike, MildRED, Nom*D, Ruby, Stolen Girlfriends Club, WORLD, Wynn Hamlin, Yvonne Bennetti and Zambesi.

This lineup is monumental for the event, Dr Margo Barton, iD Dunedin’s creative director, released a statement expressing their excitement. “The show has evolved from a celebration of Dunedin’s underground fashion to a week-long festival recognising the importance of the fashion industry to the city and the country,” she asserted. “What’s more, the addition of the iD International Emerging Design Awards 15 years ago has given us a platform to foster and develop young designers from New Zealand and throughout the world and at the same time get a sneak peek at fashion-forward trends before they hit the runways of Milan and Paris.”

Each night of the event will feature presentations from these iconic brands as well as a selection of the local and international emerging designers.
