For the new 2022 season, PUMA has announced an extension to its partnership with W Series, the international all-female single-seater motor racing championship, and recruited Finnish driver Emma Kimiläinen as a new addition to their PUMA W Series Team.

Last year, PUMA Motorsport customized racewear for female drivers for the first time. In support of the company’s women’s platform, “She moves Us”, PUMA will resume supplying custom-made racewear for the upcoming W Series season. Partner of some of the biggest names in motorsport, PUMA has provided high-performance, flame-retardant racewear for drivers since the launch of W Series in 2019.

Emma Kimiläinen has won two races in her two seasons with W Series. Last August, she ended the season in third place after kicking off a run of four consecutive podium finishes at the championship at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

“I am very proud to be racing for the PUMA W Series Team this year. With their “She Moves Us” campaign, our brand and values fit together perfectly and, being a professional athlete at the top level and a mother, I hope to inspire girls and women chasing their dreams in sports,” said Emma Kimiläinen.

She will now be preparing for the 2022 W Series season, which will feature support races at eight Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends in May, starting in Miami, USA. Last year, the PUMA W Series Team came in sixth place at the championship. Kimiläinen’s teammate for the new season will be revealed soon.

PUMA’s “She Moves Us” campaign aims to give girls and young women a voice worldwide by sharing their stories and working together to promote girls’ and women’s rights.

“W Series has become one of the key pillars of our women’s campaign, “She Moves Us”, which celebrates women who move culture and sports forward and inspire others around the world,” said James Clark, Head of Sports Marketing Motorsport & Operations at PUMA.
