Six months after his departure from Dior, Raf Simons has yet to be replaced with executives claiming the search is a work in progress.

Simons served as creative director for three years before suddenly announcing his departure in October to set up his own brand. In the time since his resignation, an in-house design team has been working on the collections while executives take a thorough look at who they want for the company moving forward.

“It’s an important position and we’re giving it a little bit of time,” said Sidney Toledano, chief executive, Dior.

The sudden departure alongside no new candidate for director has had implications on the brand’s first quarter performance, however is not halting growth entirely.

“The UK market in London business for us is doing very well, we still have double digit growth,” said Toledano.
