‘Summer Never Sleeps’ is Kathmandu’s new spring/summer collection designed to help wearers stay all day and all night outdoors. Encouraging Kiwis and Aussies to make the most of every summer moment this season, Kathmandu released this easy-to-wear range as a refresher of their brand classics.
Research shows that two-thirds of New Zealanders and Australians are more motivated than ever to be outside this summer period. This research, commissioned by leading outdoor brand, Kathmandu, indicated that more than 80 percent of Kiwis and Aussies plan to spend time walking outdoors over summer, finding their well-being enhanced in the process. Part of the study showed that 80 percent of people are happier in the summer, whereby New Zealanders go outdoors for leisure 14.5 hours per week compared to just six in the winter.
The ‘Summer Never Sleeps’ Outside range has been designed to make functionality easier when outside. The design prioritises style and is intended to be worn while casually enjoying nature, such as walking in the park.

Made for people on both sides of the Tasman, the range incorporates Kathmandu’s UPF products, developed to protect the skin from the southern hemisphere's harsh UV rays. Whether staying cool, dry or protected, the moisture-wicking SUN-Stopper helps wearers feel comfortable with easy and adjustable buttoning and hoods and an oversized fit for layering.
“It’s important for Kiwis and Aussies to know the outdoors is for everyone,” explained Kathmandu's Chief Customer Officer Eva Barrett. “Our Summer Never Sleeps collection has been designed for all in mind. We encourage everyone to get into nature this summer because we know that outside makes us inside.”
